The Gourmet Club membership app puts the InterContinental Jordan Gourmet Club card and benefits on the member's phone. Saree3 designed and built it for iOS and Android, and apps of this kind start at 2,500 JOD for a first version. The app is in closed testing ahead of its public release. The club's website is gourmetclubjordan.com.

The brief

The Gourmet Club is the hotel's membership program for its restaurants and spa. Members hold vouchers for dining and spa benefits. The hotel already runs the program on a membership system that the front desk and the outlets use every day. The brief was to put the membership in the member's pocket without changing how the hotel works, and to make redemption at the table quick and hard to misuse.

What we built

We built a native app, not a web page wrapped in an app. Members sign in with the account the hotel already holds for them, and the app reads their card, vouchers and history directly from the hotel's membership system. Nothing is copied into a second database, so what the staff see and what the member sees always match. The design follows the club's own look, ivory, slate and gold, with the club logo and a short branded opening.

Key features of the Gourmet Club app

  • Sign in with the membership account, then unlock with fingerprint or face on later visits.
  • A digital membership card with the member's name, tier and validity, which opens to a full card view.
  • A voucher wallet showing how much of each benefit remains and when it expires.
  • Redemption by code: the member picks the outlet and the app shows a code the staff scan.
  • A location check at the moment of redemption to confirm the member is at the hotel.
  • Redemption history and in-app notifications about the membership.
  • Quick links to call the hotel and to its website and social pages.

How it works for members

A member sits down at one of the hotel's restaurants and opens the app. They go to their vouchers, choose the benefit they want to use and pick the outlet. The app checks the phone's location once, at that moment, to confirm they are at the hotel. It then shows a code. The waiter scans it with the hotel's existing system, the redemption is recorded, and the remaining count on the voucher goes down.

Location is not tracked in the background or stored. Fingerprint and face unlock are handled by the phone's own secure system, and the app never receives that data. The front desk and the outlets keep working exactly the way they did before the app.

Stack

The app is written in Flutter, one codebase for iOS and Android, and connects to the hotel's existing membership system through its interface. It ships with a privacy policy and an account deletion request page, which both app stores require.

What the client gets

After final payment the client owns the source code and the design files. Saree3 supports the app through testing and release, and our care plans for updates and fixes start at 80 JOD per month.
