Common questions
Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom online store?
Most shops in Jordan start on Shopify or WooCommerce. Both handle products, stock, orders and payments well, and a branded store on either starts from 500 JOD. Shopify charges a monthly subscription and is easy to run. WooCommerce runs on your own hosting and gives you more control over the code. A custom store, from 1,200 JOD, makes sense when you have rules the platforms do not handle well, such as wholesale prices for some customers or a catalogue synced from your own system. Selling in Jordan: payment, delivery and returns
- Cash on delivery stays the main payment method for many shoppers, so it is always on.
- Card payment runs through a payment gateway. Each gateway sets its own fees, so confirm them with the provider before launch.
